International Driver Certificate Training
Regulation of International Road and Passenger Transportation#39;s (published
in Official Gazette no 22027, dated 20.08.1994) Article 38 obliges drivers to receive a
certificate. Our Association is authorized by Turkish Ministry of Transportation to issue this
certification through training.
Company Drivers realizing international goods and passenger transport indulge in this programme.
Lectures are performed in classrooms with 25 students#39; capacity and with other required technical
equipments (PC#39;s, projector etc.)
The programme lasts in 12 hours during a period of 2 days. Certification training is to be
repeated every 5 year and is endorsed by Turkish Ministry of Transportation.
During the course of the last 3 years, 208 drivers from 74 companies in the international
Transport sector have attended this programme. As companies are required to employ drivers with
International Driver Certificate, it is therefore compulsory for drivers to join this programme.
The fact that the course is to be repeated every 5 years, a need continuity is evident.
The programme addresses nearly 27.000 people in the transportation sector. As a non-governmental
organization with 600 members who happen to be the leading companies in the sector, we provide
up-to-date information relating to training programmes to our members via our web site,
monthly magazine and regular circulars.
ADR Driver-License for Dangerous Goods#39; Transportation
Transport companies realizing Dangerous Goods#39; Transportation to countries
that are party#39;s to the ADR convention (such as European Union member countries) should employ
drivers with ADR certificates. Without this certificate, drivers are not allowed to these
countries with dangerous goods. Our association has been supplying ADR certificate trainings
since 2001.
Lectures are performed in classrooms with 25 students#39; capacity and with other required
technical equipments (PC#39;s, barkovision, projector etc.). The programme takes 18 hours spread
over 3 days. Certification training is to be repeated every 5 year and is endorsed by IHK
München, Germany.
In last 3 years, 374 drivers from 109 companies in the international Transport sector have
attended this programme. As companies are required to employ drivers with ADR Certificate,
in case of transporting dangerous goods, drivers possessing the said certificate are normally
preferred.
Certificate Programme of Professional Competence for International Road Transportation
The new Law relating to Road Transportation No. 4295 and dated July 10th,
2003, requires the employees of transport operators to acquire a certificate of Professional
Competence before becoming in the field of Road Transport. The aims of this programme are as
follows:
To achieve an international road transport sector with a more diligent, reliable, modern and competitive edge,
To better qualify the human resources in the sector,
To encourage the sharing of knowledge,
To make every employee achieve an international education standard,
To make employees active, productive, participating and a team member,
To develop a sector that meets the requirements for customer satisfaction,
To develop companies in the sector with a corporate identity,
To increase total management qualities.
Certification for Professional Competency trainings not only meet the requirements of
Turkish Ministry of Transportation#39;s law no. 4295, but also addresses the requirements
given in European Union Directive No: 98/76/EC of 1 October 1998 and is in line with
the measures taken in the White Paper of the EU that refers to policies to be adopted by 2010.
A protocol has been signed with Istanbul Trade University with the aim of providing trainings
and the basic technical infrastructure. The protocol contains provisions relating to curriculum
of the programme and the contents are in line with that of the EU directives as well as the
requirements as depicted in the newly endorsed Road Transport Law. University shall also
provide us with trainers and training facilities. Programme#39;s content contains 8 modules:
Basic Transportation, Fleet Management, Law, Customs, Combined Transportation, Marketing for
International Transporters, Insurance and Commercial Terms.
Personal Development Trainings
Basic aim of these courses is to supply added value to the transport
sector by supporting qualified human resources and knowledge sharing as well as developing new
efficient working methods and policies. These courses include Foreign Languages, Computer,
Office Services and Management Development as well as seminars in Leadership and Motivation,
Efficient Communication, Performance Management, Conflict and Accordance Management and
Teamwork topics.
